Citizen Marketer 2.1 posed a challenge to readers to define social marketing in 100 words or less.  Here are a few samples:

” Social marketing is communicating WITH your customers, not AT them.”

” Social Marketing seeks to build a relationship, rather than a one-off sale.”

” Social Marketing is facilitating conversations about your brand, both online and offline. And, when appropriate, engaging in the conversation in an open an honest way.”
